Cookie & Data Policy
Last updated: 7 July 2026
1. What this policy covers
This policy explains which cookies and similar browser-storage technologies (localStorage) this website uses, what they do, and how you can control them. For a full description of how we process personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
We deliberately keep this list short: the site sets no advertising or third-party marketing cookies, and analytics runs only after you explicitly accept it.
2. Cookies and storage we use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| pikniko_guest_session | Cookie (HttpOnly, signed) | Keeps you logged into the guest area after you look up your booking. Contains only signed booking references. | A few hours (session-scoped) | Essential |
| pikniko_analytics_consent | localStorage | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies. | Until you clear your browser data | Essential |
| pikniko-pwa-prompt-dismissed | Cookie + localStorage | Remembers that you dismissed the “install this app” prompt so we don’t show it again. | 1 year | Functional |
| ph_* (PostHog) | Cookie + localStorage | Website analytics and privacy-masked session replay: which pages are visited and how the booking flow is used. Set only after you accept analytics in the cookie banner. | Up to 12 months | Analytics (consent) |
Essential and functional items are required for the site to work (guest login, remembering your consent choice) and are used on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating the website. Analytics items are used only with your consent.
3. Analytics and error monitoring
- PostHog — measures page views and how the booking flow is used, and records privacy-masked session replays (all text you type and personal details are masked before anything leaves your browser). PostHog is initialised in an opted-out state and activates only after you accept analytics in the cookie banner.
- Sentry — collects technical error reports when something on the site breaks, so we can fix it. It runs in Sentry’s EU data region, does not use cookies, and does not attach your IP address to client-side events.
- Chatwoot — the chat widget loads only the resources it needs to display the conversation window; the messages you send are covered by the Privacy Policy.
4. Managing your consent
When you first visit the site, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Declining does not limit any functionality — booking, check-in and all guest services work exactly the same.
To change a choice you already made:
- Clear this site’s browsing data (cookies and site data) in your browser settings — the consent banner will be shown again on your next visit.
- You can also block or delete cookies globally through your browser settings at any time.
- To have analytics data already collected about you deleted, email us at Riminihotelkennedy@gmail.com.
5. Changes
If we add or change cookies or storage, we will update this page and, where required, ask for your consent again. The date at the top indicates the latest revision.
